Win a Trip to Israel – Exclusive Sweepstakes

I’m writing this today from the lounge at Abraham Hostels in Tel Aviv.

I still remember the first time I visited Israel. It was 2010 and I was on a backpacking trip around the world. I had this idea that I might stay in the country for more than just a short holiday, more than just a week in Jerusalem and a week in Tel Aviv, but I wasn’t sure I could do it. After a few days in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, though, I was hooked: the food, the culture, the people, it was all so mesmerizing I knew I had to explore more. So I stayed. That first visit to Israel turned from a two-week holiday into a four-month adventure, exploring everything from the gay nightlife in Tel Aviv to the markets of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, road trips through the north, and the hummus—so much hummus!

Israel is one of those destinations that’s surprising not least because it’s as interesting as its history, but because it’s a modern place, constantly changing. Its cities are so different from one another, the archeological sites controversial, the history unparalleled. So that’s why I’m happy to partner with one of Israel’s leading tour operators and hostel brands, Abraham Hostels. Since first staying in their guesthouse in Nazareth, the Fauzi Azar Inn, I’ve been hooked on what this company is doing to change the way tourists experience the culture here.

Abraham Hostels just opened up their newest property here in Tel Aviv and it’s already become a cool and social hub for locals and independent travelers. In addition to the top-quality, budget accommodation, (and at an amazing location!), they offer some of the most interesting and unique tours through Israel, the West Bank and even to Petra, Jordan—a great way to explore the region as an independent traveler!
